Aiming to make a real difference.

Thank you for finding your way to the Hushed History Project.

I started this project at a time when millions of people are in pain from systemic racism, discrimination and injustice.

It seems just too easy to sign a petition on social media, and this project is my response to address a particular problem.

That problem is the missing education of black history.

Having chosen to study 'Oppression and Equality' History A level, I have been privileged to learn about the American Civil Rights movement, South African Apartheid among other topics, and want to share what I know.

This project aims to plug this education gap with some iconic, but little-known stories, using garments and other products.

It’s never too late to educate yourself and I too am still making an effort to keep expanding my knowledge on what has caused the cycle of racism that exists in society today. 

Another aim is to raise an amount of money for relevant charities.  I have chosen to donate a percentage of the profit from sales to charities that also support black lives; more information on this can be found against each product and on the FAQs page.

Finally thank you for your interest, I hope you choose to support my business, but most of all, hope you have learnt a bit more about black history as a result of your visit to my website.  As a society we need to come to the realisation it is not the job of black people to educate others on their history or on racism. There is no excuse with resources like this project and many other sources of information not to educate ourselves.
